Apparently it’s not just kids who are climbing the walls after basically missing out on summer fun in 2020. A new survey shows that parents are eager to cram two summers’ worth of activities into one in 2021.
The non-scientific poll of 2,000 Americans commissioned by Juicy Juice showed that 62% don’t even count June-August of last year as summer. To that end, they’re calling for a do-over: 68% say they’re planning to make up
Traditional outdoor activities are going to be all the rage in 2021: 42% of the respondents say they’re planning beach trips; 38% say they’re going to barbecue; 35% say they’re planning camping trips and pool days; and 34% say they’re planning to safely visit family.
Other popular ways to pass the time will be movie nights, at 29%, and playing with the sprinkler and water balloons, at 26%. In other words, your very normal, pre-pandemic summer hijinks.
The pandemic shifted how we think of the usual family vacation, too, with 66% vowing to “cherish every moment” of the summer of 2021.
